Weekly Weight: XXX lbs

March 20, 2020

For those looking at the above picture and are thinking, wow I don’t see any numbers, don’t think something has gone off with your vision. There aren’t any numbers today.

This week my world went mad. There was no menu plan. Any attempt at any form of workout went awry and I had elderly relatives calling from every corner of the globe. Some were just checking in, others were calling to share their predictions of doom, others needed reassurance and a few wanted to run some weird bits of misinformation past me to see if it was in fact crazy or reality.

My family tends to be evenly split between those who are overly trusting can see the silver lining in a mud puddle and those who do research and lean towards suspicion rather than automatic trust. I know you are shocked to find I fall onto the suspicious side of the equation.

So taking my own Wednesday advice, I decided to give myself a break this week and made a deliberate choice not to get on the scale.

I will however be getting back onto the scale next Friday as I reboot my weight loss plan.Things have settled down now and my more sociable relatives are turning to various forms of electronic communication whether audio or visual rather than going out unnecessarily. The panic calls have slowed to a trickle. And I can once again breathe.

Besides the reminder that I have a lot of older family members, I learned two things this week. One is that I need a routine. Without it, I go a little bonkers myself. Two, while things are settling down as initial panic dims, this isn’t a short term scenario. We are in for a long haul. There are some clinging to the belief that in a few weeks this will all blow over. There are those who have their fingers crossed and are hoping for two months. There are others who have gone full commitment to the year or eighteen months before normality can resume.

Personally, I have no clue how long the things I counted as normal will be suspended.I do know that it would take less than two weeks without a regular routine for me to go completely insane. So this weekend I am inflating my Yoga ball. I am getting my hand weights out of the bottom of the closet. I am downloading fitness routines I can do with minimal at home fitness equipment (mostly the items listed above) and I will be building a new routine.

How long that new routine lasts, is not up to me. But staying healthy and becoming healthier by continuing to shave off my excess weight is.So I will wash my hands compulsively, slather on my lotion from my stockpile of hand cream so my skin doesn’t dry and crack from the excess washing and get myself into a new routine. I know some of you out there are in the same boat so I will start adding posts about some of the workouts that I find on line and some of the things I am doing to get fit at home. Hopefully that will help you out as well as keep me on track.

I’ll be back this afternoon with the regularly scheduled Friday Face Mask, because lets face it, if there was ever a Friday where I needed a moment of calm to destress, this is it. Hope you have a good morning everyone.

For those of you wanting a little home adventure, I’ve posted a link to CrateJoy below. They have heaps of different subscriptions from mystery solving kits to kid’s play boxes to the gourmet meal kits featured in the ad below. They even have cocktail samplers and bathtime destress subscription boxes if either of those are what you are looking for. Just because you are spending time at home, doesn’t mean home can’t be more fun.
