I Feel Like coming clean (with a pumpkin walnut cleanser of course)

This is not the first time I have used this Feel Renewed Pumpkin Walnut Facial Cleanser, and it won’t be the last.  It is also one that routinely sells out on the Feel Site.  Now you may notice that my little tube (deluxe sample size) is a little different from the one that is pictured on the Feel site.  It is also a little differently named,  The site lists it as the Enzymatic Exfoliating Cleanser.  It is the same cleanser, as near as I can figure, but feel went through a rebranding and repackaging session a few months back so things look a little different.

The Description on the site is the same as it was with the old product thought…

Our Enzymatic Exfoliating Cleanser will help you maintain smooth, healthy-looking skin. Every day you lose around 30,000-40,000 dead skin cells off the surface of your skin. Exfoliating with our Enzymatic Exfoliating Cleanser helps this process by sloughing away those dead skin cells revealing your smooth skin surface. The enzymes Bromelain and Papain are key factors in speeding up this process.

Our natural powder exfoliants provide deep cleansing to lift away trapped dirt, oil, and makeup to free up your pores. This helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and fine lines.

Exfoliating helps prepare your skin to better absorb the rest of your skincare products. Our sensitive ingredients (like Pumpkin Seed Oil) allow you to exfoliate anywhere from daily to once a week (depending on how sensitive your skin is), without drying it out. Pumpkin Seed Oil is also a rich source of multi-vitamins that helps nourish and reduce problematic skin.

Okay first off, let’s talk scent.  It smells like pumpkin and spice.  There is no cinnamon or nutmeg in the mix (which is really good as neither are very good for your skin) but it smells like they are. It smells quite frankly delicious.

Now it does have powdered walnut in it and it is an exfoliate.  It is a rather gentle exfoliate though.  Even though it is a daily cleanser, I only used it twice a week, and even then once a day instead of morning and evenings on the days I used it and simply used a different cleanser the rest of the time.  In between I used one of my favorites the Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Cleanser.  (They have a deal actually that runs though the end of today if you are interested in Malin+ Goetz products – free expedited shipping + bodycare trio featuring deluxe samples of our best-selling hand + body wash, moisturizer + deodorant when you spend $100+.use code MGBODYCARE20 at checkout. The Malin + Goetz Grapefruit Cleanser is an excellent cleanser by the way.  It is one of the cleansers I like to keep on hand and tend to reach for whenever the cleanser I am trying out is problematic.

slight foaming but not much

The Feel Cleanser wasn’t problematic, it just couldn’t be used every day, at least by me.  While I used it like an exfoliator instead of a daily cleanser, I love the way it foamed up on my skin and rinsed off cleanly.  It exfoliated the skin but worked like a cleanser as well so that I didn’t need to use a second cleanse on the days I used it.  My skin felt refreshed and renewed after using.  I also wanted a piece of pumpkin pie after using it, but that is also the changing of the seasons.

Plus, my baby doll and I have been making a list of all the things we really want over thanksgiving this year.  Since it is just the two of us sans extended family, we are paring the giant meal down to the favorites we both like and want to eat. While there will be massive left overs regardless, we aren’t feeding twelve people so anything we generally have because it is expected but isn’t something either of us wants to eat is getting nixed.  Plus, we don’t need three pies for just the two of us.  (generally Apple, Pumpkin and a chocolate mousse type of pie.) While my baby was happy to eliminate some of the veggie dishes he really doesn’t want to lose one of the pies.  I left the decision up to him and he is agonizing over the merits of each.  I think he has gotten it down to pumpkin and chocolate. But there has been a lot of pie talk around the house as he debates filling.

This cleanser leaned me a little more towards pumpkin just because it smells delicious. But the final result is that this is a cleanser/exfoliating scrub, that I have used before and will use again, if I can ever manage to catch it when it is restocked.  It is a gentle exfoliate that I have to treat as a few times a week product rather than a twice a day use kind of thing, but I don’t mind. This is a definite repurchase.
