Oh my darlings today has been a day. Easter weekend was fine and quiet but this week got off to a roaring bang. My gym visit was skipped and I went on an extra long walk this morning instead. I know it sounds a bit dorky but I had my second vaccine shot this afternoon. After my Monday weights my arms feel weak and wobbly (mostly because I don’t go near the gym on the weekend). But then after my first vaccine shot my arm felt very achy as well.
Since I was having the second shot today, I wanted to know which was making my arms wobbly. I figured I could burn a few more calories on the walking trail today and just see how the week works out. I didn’t really have any reaction to the first shot so I am hopeful, but i am also wary. So this week will be a let’s see how things go as far as exercise goes.
It is also the week where leftover carrot cake will be following every meal. The left over lamb we can freeze, the left over cake not so much. So we will see how that goes as well.
The vaccine itself was very interesting. It was done in the parking lot outside of an abandoned section of mall. There are a few business still in the mall but JCPennys and the entire wing where it was located are now all empty. It felt oddly apocolyptic to get a shot in the arm there. To top it off this was the first warm day in a while. After last week’s freeze today is in the mid seventies and the black topped asphalt radiated heat. It was a very long line to get the shot. It was like a bizarre slow moving obstacle course through a maze of orange traffic cones. I will say, they used the vast empty parking lot to their advantage.
After the long wait and maze traversing the injection was almost anti climactic. A couple of questions, a sign in sheet and then the alcohol swap shot and bandage before being sent off to the far side of the parking lot to wait for fifteen minutes to make sure there were no side effects. Actual Vaccine: 2 minutes. Everything surrounding the vaccine, three hours and twenty minutes. And so my darlings that is what I did with my day.
The makeup pictures I took prior to leaving for the appointment. I will say, over three hours in a hot car was a pretty good stress test for the No7 Foundation.
Foundation: No7 Lift and Luminate Triple Action Serum Foundation with SPF15 (I still used my Volition SPF 50, don’t worry)
Blush, Bronzer and Highlight: The Real Her Ultimate Glow Getter Cheek Trio
Mascara: Ciate Wonderwand Mascara
Eyebrows: Il Makiage in Truffle
I didn’t use a setting spray because I am testing the wear of the new foundation (Its also one of the main reasons I am alternating primers and not trying out the new one I have) and I don’t want anything affecting it.
Over all, I am pretty happy about the way things turned out. I didn’t want to be late to my appointment so I kind of hustled. I didn’t even realize I didn’t reach for any setting powder or pressed powder until I was out of the house. It was a super quick look. The Primer went on with the fingertips and the foundation went on with my 999 Master Blender from Bdellium Tools. I only used two eyeshadow brushes, both my favorite Luxie. One was the Luxie 209 Large Shader and the other was the Luxie 140 Detail Tapered blender. I need to poke around on the site as the 140 Detail Tapered blender is one of my favorite brushes. It is however pretty old so even though it is in good condition, I still want to get a replacement just to have it ready. The issue is I can’t find the exact number. So I have to look for something similar. It has almost a Wonder Woman Logo on it so I don’t know if Luxie came out with a specific set a while back and now no longer carries it. It is something I will need to look into. I have some time though as it is still in decent shape. But that was about it for me. It was a quick and easy look that only wilted slightly in my non-air conditioned car and long parking lot wait. Sometimes simple is best. I’m just glad i decided to tie my hair up and out of the way.
