The Daily: April 27th, 2021

While I like the new workouts, I have to say the scheduling is going to take a bit to sort out. Today is my non-gym day so I thought it would be slower, but I had to make up for time lost yesterday and anticipate time lost tomorrow. It will take a bit of finessing before things settle into something i can maintain so things might be a little wonky as I figure them out. I did manage a walk, which is the exercise I have planned for my non-gym days. Although Thursday I have the dentist so we will see how that goes.

I’m actually quite relieved to be going to the dentist actually. I had a crown come loose. Two actually. It was the strangest thing though. Everything was fine with my teeth and then post second vaccination I had a massive fever. The fever broke in the night and I woke up the day after feeling better, but a little achy still. Then i sneezed and two crowns popped out.

It was a not so pleasant surprise.

Thursday was the first appointment I could get since they’ve been short staffed so we’ll see how it turns out.

I’ve never heard of fever popping out crowns before but as they were fine before I’m not sure what else could be going on. I’ve been eating a lot of soft foods lately just in case and am actually craving something crunchy. If everything works out well then this weekend I am having popcorn.

Today’s Look:

Primer: Marc Jacobs Under Cover Blur-fection

Foundation: Ciate London Extraordinary Foundation

Blush/Bronze/Highlighter/powder: Pur 4-in-1 Skin Perfecting face palette

Eyeshadow: Cargo Swimmables eye shadow Stick in Sandy Bay And Bobbi Brown Shadow Stick in Golden Pink

Mascara: Unlashed by Wander Beauty

Lips: Ofra Liquid Lip in Pasadena

Setting Spray: Benefit Cosmetics PoreFessional Supersetter Setting Spray

I am currently still testing out the Marc Jacobs Primer (and will be all week and possibly into next), thus far I’m still liking it but will rotate it through several different foundations to be certain. If you are interested in this Primer (or other Marc Jacobs products actually) Marc Jacobs is having a sale. Usually this primer is $39 but currently it is $27.30. While I am still clearly testing the primer, their shadows are a good formula as are their liquid lips.

Today I chose the Ciate London Extraordinary foundation to work with the primer. I really do like that foundation and I suspect I am going to be wearing it a lot more this summer. It is very lightweight and really works well with my skin. It worked well with the Marc Jacobs Primer as well. Ciate London’s 40% off sale is still going on as well and this foundation is currently offered for $17 which is kind of amazing.

I am also trying to remember to reach for the Pur Face Palette more. I like how it performs actually and to be honest i think that next time I travel it will be what i grab to take with me. It performs well and with all four face powders in one it is super easy to slip into a makeup bag. I love the length that the Unlashed gives my lashes. It felt extra effortless after having to work for my mascara yesterday. It doesn’t do a whole lot for volume but in lengthening it is really good.

Today I liked the Cargo Swimmables Eyeshadow stick a little less than I did the first time i used it. On its own it worked well, working with another shadow stick it wasn’t the greatest. I used the Bobbi Brown Shadow stick as the shimmer is always stunning. I had to work really hard to get it to show up over the swimmables formula. when I went to blur it in a little with my finger tip it sort of disappeared into the blue gray. It is still there, but not as bright. I think something in the waterproof formula makes it not want to play well with others. Tomorrow I am going to try a powder shadow over it and see how well that works. It was really the only hang up in my makeup today as the OFRA Liquid lip in Pasadena is one I will wear until the tube is empty and then immediately repurchase. It is a great neutral for when you want some color but not a lot. The slight pink tone to it keeps it from making my lips blend into my face. I went for a pretty neutral look today so it isn’t all that exciting, but it was suitable for my earlier conference call. So that is something.

There are a lot of Mother’s day sales going on now that you might want to take advantage of if you are looking to shop. No matter who you are shopping fo (I won’t judge). Here’s a few that caught my eye.
