Wednesday, more of the rain, less of the walking. I did take advantage of the treadmill at the gym though so that is something. And it is nice to see in bright digital how many calories I actually burned. Or at least how many the treadmill thinks I burned. I know I enter my weight and they have their calculations down but I always have my doubts.
Not that I think the machine is lying to me, but to be sure I always subtract ten calories from the machine’s total. Just to be on the safe side. I think it is because the machines never seem to agree. I had a fitbit for a long time. I wore it until it actually disintegrated. The rubberized plastic bits remained but the electronics crumbled. It never seemed to agree with the treadmill and I was never sure which was right. Sometimes I think they both lied to me in order to get me to pick a favorite.
I do kind of miss having a step tracker, I’m just not sure I want another fitbit. If anyone has any suggestions please post them in the comments below or message me or something. I’d love to know what you’ve found helpful.
Primer: Marc Jacobs Blur-fection Primer
Foundation Kristofer Buckle Triplicity Foundation Stick
Bronzer: NARS in Laguna
Highlighter: Wander Beauty Wanderess Glow in Afterhours
Powder: No7 Perfect Light Pressed powder
Mascara: Beautaniq Beauty Nourishing Mascara
I know I say this every time I take it out of the drawer, but I really do love the Triplicity Foundation stick from Kristofer Buckle. It is just a few quick swipes and an easy blend. I also couldn’t resist my Nars Bronzer and bareMinerals blush. These are the two samples I am working hard to pan this year so that I can purchase them both in the full size. I just know if I pick up the full size now I’ll shift into using them and then forget all about the sample sizes and they will go to waste. And both products are too good to allow that to happen. So no purchasing in the full size until they are through.
This is the second time I’ve used the Beautaniq Beauty Nourishing Mascara and I have to say I don’t like it any better than I did the last time. It darkens the lashes and might be nourishing but it doesn’t actually do much for the lashes. I don’t mind nourishing my lashes, but that is what lash serums are for. Dermelect actually makes a pretty nice one if you want your lashes nourished and conditioned. But I expect just a little bit more from my mascara. I’ll still use this one up, but it isn’t my favorite. You might see it pop up frequently as I try to use it up, but I promise I will try to keep my complaints to a minimum.
With the eyeshadow today, I picked up the Ciate New England Palette. I usually don’t go for blue shadow, but today I decided that I would try them out for some reason. Not entirely sure why. They aren’t my favorite shades in the palette and they do require a bit of work to use. They aren’t terribly pigmented so you have to build them up. I generally stick to the rosier shades in this palette and I think they work better. I think blues are just really hard to do quite honestly. In this balette the shimmers are my favorite. And I did yous one of the gold shimmers in the inner corner. However I also decided to play around with the Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss. I tried using it as a liner on the lids. I don’t think it worked too well which is more about my eyes than the product. It sort of got lost. I think next time I reach for this I may go under the eyes with it and in the inner corner rather than as an upper lid liner. It was fun to play with though and it was nice to take a minute to just play around with it. I don’t know why but the Eyeko lid gloss does just make me want to play with it. Perhaps it is because it looks like a little paint tube. Either way, it was fun.
But now, it is back to work. I hope you have a fantastic rest of the day, whatever you plan to do.
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!
