Good morning my darlings and welcome to the weekly skincare line up. Here we look at all of the items currently in use and touch on a few of the things that jumped out at me about each. It isn’t a deep review, just an in progress one. Although several of the elements on my line up have made it to the one month mark where they are ready for a full review of their own. Each of the items that manage to make it through a full month of use have an individual review of their own. While everything is shown above, not all of the items are used at the same time. Some are day time products, others live for the night. And a few of the items are only broken out once or maybe a few times a week. Let’s start with the day time products.
Daytime Skin Care
Deodorant: Native Powder and Cotton Deodorant
Toning Essence: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (product gifted by brand)
- Currently on sale for 40% off
Serum: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
Eye Cream: Elemis Pro-Collagen Eye Revive Mask
Eye Serum: Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Eye Serum (product gifted by Influenster)
This week there was no change to the lineup for the day time crew. All of the products remained the same as last week. The Caudalie serum sample is at it’s end though. I used the last of it this morning. After I finished the Elizabeth Arden ampules for the night I switched to using the Caudalie both in the day time and the night which used up the tube faster than I thought it would. I know I have a couple of other Caudalie samples in my collection, but I am not certain they are exactly the same. It one is the same I will rotate it in and hope it lasts two weeks as well so I can get a full month of use form the product and possibly determine it’s effects. That will involve a later today search.
I enjoyed this serum while I used it for the past two weeks. It is a creamy serum which took me a minute to get used to. I thought the creamy nature would make it harder to absorb, but it didn’t. As with all serums you need to give it a minute to settle in and absorb, but this didn’t require any extra time.
Part of why I enjoyed it was the use of the essence before the serum. While essence is a category often mentioned, it always seemed a bit mysterious to me. A shorthand version of what an essence does is that it opens your skin up so that it can more easily absorb the following skin care. Of course it also had skin benefits too. The Time Revolution one is Artemisia based and really helps soothe the skin after being in the sun or taking other damage. Personally despite the sunscreen, the heat and sun here can be brutal in the summertime, so I have been leaning heavily on this Time Revolution Essence. It was especially useful when i lost track of time this week and went on a longer than expected bike ride. The wind took away much of the summer heat, but the sun still did a number on me and I used this essence as an extra recovery treatment by soaking cotton pads and leaving them on the skin for about ten minutes. It really helped take the sting out of my own losing track of time foolishness. This was actually the fourth week of use for me, so there will be a full review coming soon. As I have been expanding it’s use, you probably don’t need the spoiler alert that it is going to be a positive one.
Shall we move into the night?
Nighttime Skin Care
Makeup Remover: Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
Toner: Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence from Missha (Gifted by brand)
Eye Cream: Elemis Pro-Collagen Eye Revive Mask
Eye Serum: Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Eye Serum (gifted by Influenster)
Lips: Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (in Maple), no lip scrub
.Night Mask: Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar Night Mask And Wander Beauty Do Not Disturb Overnight Recovery Mask
Okay a lot of the products used in the day time are recused at night. Additionally there is a makeup removing balm from Elemis. It is one of my favorite formulas of cleansing balms. I was planning on keeping this small size for my travel bag, but it has been a while since I traveled and my next travel is at Thanksgiving so I didn’t want it to sit around that long. Okay that also gave me the excuse to use it. I really like a double cleanse and I really enjoy cleansing balms. I don’t like stocking back ups of them though as sometimes when they sit they can get a strange liquid on the top that makes me think they are seperating. So this travel size was the only cleansing balm in my skincare drawer. At this point though I only have a week or two left in the jar (at best) so I took advantage of the Peach and Lily mega Summer sale to pick up a new cleansing balm I have never tried before so I should have a new one around when this runs out. If the fates and shipping align. After that I may shift into trying out micellar waters and other cleansers for the double cleanse. But in all honesty, I love the balms the most. And this one from Elemis is my favorite. They do come in different scents though if you aren’t a fan of the original Cleansing Balm scent. I haven’t tried the othres, but I would guess they work just as well, and just smell different.
In the night time line up, you will see a change. I have been using the Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar Night Mask, but I noticed I have been using it less and less. I am now down to once a week with it. It is simply too much moisture for my skin type. I do like it, but I need to limit it’s use. I think it would be better for me in the winter actually.
However I did notice that my First Aid Beauty Moisturizer needed a little help in the week so I rolled in the Wander Beauty oer night mask. It is early days yet, but it provides extra moisture for the night, but isn’t as intensely moisturizing as the Bloom Effects. At this point I am planning to use it a couple of times a week and see how the Wander Beauty fares. Thus far I like the weight of it on my skin and the level of moisture it provides. I’ll keep you posted as time progresses.
And that my darlings was the weekly line up. As many of the products have been in a slow and steady use, there wasn’t a lot new to discuss. However there will be some changes coming soon as products get swapped out. I try to keep several steady items while switching out a few here and there so i can keep my skin from freaking out over a completely new regime. This week I’ll look at the empties and the steadies and see where changs can be made. For now, This is my current skincare line up.
